Start typing a city name and choose from the dropdown menu.

Currently limited to 1,031 cities with more than 500,000 inhabitants in our database.

Cities located at the same latitude lie along the same parallel of the Earth and therefore receive a similar angle of sunlight throughout the year. This often results in comparable patterns of daylight duration and, in many cases, broadly similar climatic conditions. Studying cities on the same latitude is a useful way to understand how geographic position influences temperature, seasons, and ecosystems.

However, latitude alone does not determine climate. Other factors such as altitude, proximity to oceans, and ocean currents can produce significant differences between locations sharing the same latitude. As a result, comparing these cities provides insight into both global similarities and regional variations.

This tool allows you to identify cities at the same latitude and explore how different regions of the world relate to one another geographically.
